This rare Babani jacket operates at the intersection of East and West couture and import, suggestion and structure. Known for channeling Japonisme and Near Eastern aesthetics to a Parisian idiom, the maison here offers a piece that rejects overt Orientalist fantasy.

The embroidery-delicately metallic, deliberately spare, speaks instead to the refined restraint of early modernist design, akin to the transparency of Josef Hoffmann or Anni Albers woven minimalism.
